Homeless and Orphan Pets Exist (HOPE) is a non-profit organization with the mission to improve the welfare and abandoned animals in Malaysia. H.O.P.E was established on April 2008 by Auntie Jia Jia, the founder of H.O.P.E. her kindess to animal leads her to build up a heaven for strays. Her passionate and actions has inspired and attract some volunteers to contribute their time and energy and work together. With their effort, we are finally success to officially register our organisation under Registry of Societies Malaysia on Dec 2009.

H.O.P.E is located at Lima Kedai, at town between Gelang Patah and Skudai, Johor Bahru. Our mission is to improve the lives of animals, alleviate their suffering, and elevate their status in society. We safeguard, rescue, shelter, heal, adopt and advocate for animals in need, while inspiring community action and compassion on their behalf. And we envision, a world in which all people regard companion animals as lifelong, valued family members; embrace their responsibility for the welfare of animals; and respect, value and protect the animals with whom share this earth.

When we started the shelter, there were only 20 animals in this 0.40 ha shelter. But today, H.O.P.E is sheltering nearly 350 dogs and cats. As a number of strays are increasing, the amount of money that we need to spend on their food, routine vaccination, deworming, neutering for new comer and other veterinary care also increase drastically. Your support will not only help us to cover expenses on shelter maintenance, but also strengthened H.O.P.E to educate the society by reducing the number of strays and also lead us to fulfill our mission and vission.

As a non-profit and non-governmental organization, we need your donation to continue our work and mission. Besides that, we are also in need of volunteers to help us.

PAWS and H.O.P.E

me and my sister, working as a volunteer during the weekend at Midvalley, Pets Exhibition.

we were previously a volunteer at PAWS, which is allocated at Subang Old Airport. but we have stop going there for quite awhile, cause were busying with our studies. and now... we again here to work as a volunteer cause they need some man power for the exhibition! =)

this is my favorite cat! it has been adopted by a kind Malay guy. lucky one! happy for him!

there are 20 over cats available in our booth are waiting to be adopt.

the previous roadshow that held in Tropicana City Mall have dogs and cats, but this time, they decided to only put cats. because the number of cats has been increasing! and they have insufficient place to place them. so our duty for today is to CONVINCE people to adopt them.

the cats and dogs that available in PAWS shelter are in a GOOD CONDITION! they are HEALTHY, because they are FULLY VACCINATED, CASTRATED/SPAYED, DE-WORMED.

the benefits of getting them castrated and spayed are posted on my previous post. PLEASE READ IT , it's a RESPONSIBILITY of a PET'S OWNER to understand first before u actually keep a pet (unless they are always kept inside the house).

Rina, the helper for PAWS too! her mother was also one of the volunteer for this event. she is just 5 years old, and she is helping us to approach the people, to make them donate or buy the merchandise. the money that we earn is contributing back to PAWS, to get the cats and dogs food and shelter and also for their medication.

next to our booth, it's also a ORG, Non-profit organisation, which is allocated at Johor.

i doesn't know how to describe with words, i hope the pictures helps to understand better.

some of them need to be adopt URGENTLY because we cannot assure that will they survive until the next day.

some of the dogs have low-self-esteem. because they were previously abused by their BLOODY IRRESPONSIBLE OWNER, that's why they have no confident, and always isolate themselves from the others.

it has bad injury in his body, and he cannot see... his world now is only black and white.

the previous owner actually CHOPPED OFF HALF OF HIS LEG!!!

when they found him, it was badly infected! and that's why the veterinarian have to chop off the leg completely before it get worst!

this is a real story, you can see the picture below that we took on the spot.

his name is Sa-Ka. it means 3 legs in Hokkien.

but they people always call him SAKAI! hahahahha... because Saka Saka, Sakai Sakai. HAHAHAHAHA... so cute right?

he is a very brave dog. he appreciate his life! he is now a very healthy dog! he walk, he run and he play around with people like how other dogs do!

but Sa-ka get tired easily, because he only have 3 legs to support his weight.

anyway, Saka get to know lots of doggie friend on that day! happie! =D

it has a very serious bad infection. and need to take medication.

without our help, their condition will become worst!!!

and this is Brownie, the CHOW CHOW. hahahhaa.. so cute and fat and healthy!!!

he is actually straying around 4 months ago.

when they found Brownie, he is SOOOO SKINNY and the whole body got infected. no fur, and there is NUMEROUS OF WORMS GROWING IN HIS EARS!!!

his previous BLOODY OWNER did not take good care of him, and when he become hideous, they just throw him off by the roadside. he was straying by the roadside for 2 weeks until someone reported to the HOPE org.

the people in HOPE ORG are very kind hearted! they really take good care of the dogs until they become so healthy! =D

someone actually wanted to adopt Brownie but they WANT TO KNOW THE FAMILY BACKGROUND FIRST before they hand Brownie to them. because CHOW CHOW is not easy to take care. they need to sleep inside a air-cond room, they need to be groom all the time, they need to bathe in a right way. IT'S PLENTY OF WORK!

so they need to assure that the owner can actually take good care of them before they give the dogs. they are really nice people....

they are very emotional dog. sometimes they will get crazy and will bark at you. but sometimes they are so nice until u can do anything to them. pinch him, pull his fur. HAHAHAH... so cuteee! but really need to put in heart to take care. because some people just want to get the dog because they are cute. IT'S WRONG!!!!!

I cant remember what the breed of this dog. but this FATTIE DOGGIE cost RM24K.

There is a legend story behind it.

it says that last time, there is a hunter, brought this dog for hunting in the jungle. and suddenly, there is a Tiger attacked the hunter, and this dog manage to rescue the hunter by attacking the Tiger. and he actually WON! the size of this dog can be as big as a tiger. (this is what they told us) and the dog in the picture above is only 5 months old. imagine if it's fully grown up.

after working the whole day, finally i have time to get some bite. Carl's Junior for lunch today. =)

Stress with AssignmentSSSSSS

i'm currently in my Year2, m taking business course, majoring in Marketing.

i'm so stress up with my Assignments and Homework. it's hell lot until my mum can hardly recognize me. ommmmg.. first week of semester, total 6 modules's of assignment is given to us! and all the due-date is so close...

besides assignment, all modules has DAILY homework for us. and it's not just simple homework, we have to do slides, have to present it, do research, and reference for it. what the hell... it's just a homework, why my lecturer keep demanding so many things from us?

aiks... this year is no longer easy like how Foundation and Year1 used to be.

i'm so stress up with my studies, and yet, i'm SO lazy to do my work. i'm so not motivated!

24 hour is seriously not enough for me.

i need to go to school, by the time i reach home is about 6. dinner? 1 hour. gym? 2 hours. spend time with my babies??? (my dogs and cats) half and hour, walk them??? another half an hour. my online boutique??? another half an hour. how much time left for me? I DONT NEED TO SLEEP AH? i'm made my flesh man! i'm not robot la helloo~~~~

aiks.... i really have to put in more effort on my studies. i dont want to disappoint my parents!

and this is my second year. gotta really work hard for it. as my 2nd year results contributing 30% to my final year.

wish me luck people! i can do it!

My Precious All

my baby Mimi is currently in the hospital. T.T

i have no class today (every friday), so i bring Mimi for castration.
i know it sounds weird. explanation here, Mimi is a Male cat. yeaaa.. he has to be castrated because there is many female cats around my house.
and to prevent more stray cats straying around, the best way is to castrate or spay them.
it's good for their health in a way.

the list of Benefits of Neutering/ Castrating Dogs and Cats:

1. Decrease Aggression

One of the most important behavioral advantages of castration is that as adults, these dogs will tend to be less aggressive both toward other male dogs and also people. The androgen (male) hormones, of which testosterone is the most important, are responsible for the development of many behavioral patterns. When young puppies are sexually mounting their 7 and 8-week old litter mates this is because of androgen surges in their bodies. The same is true with aggressive behavior. Some medications that have androgenic hormonal activity often cause increased aggression (an example would be the birth control medication, Cheque Drops, which contains one of these androgen-type chemicals). The degree castration has on suppressing aggression varies between animals and the age at which it is done. Its effect is greatest if it is done before one year of age.

2. Decrease Roaming

A second behavioral advantage of neutering is that these dogs will not 'roam' when they sense a female in heat. Male dogs can sense females in heat through pheromones. These are airborne chemical attractants that are liberated from the female when she is cycling. They travel through the air for great distances. We grew up on a farm where the next closest house was over a mile away, but when one of our female dogs was in heat, the males would come for miles from upwind, downwind, and crosswind. Pheromones are, to say the least, very effective stimuli. In the seventies, it was briefly popular to do vasectomies on dogs thinking that we would not be taking the 'joy of sex' away from our canine counterparts. The problem with this reasoning was that many of us keep our dogs restricted in our homes, a kennel, or on a chain. Now think of the psychological stress the vasectomized male is under when he is locked up, but yet smells that female in heat four blocks away. There is no joy of sex, as he is trapped on your property unable to go and mate with her. He is, in effect, teased continuously for three to fourteen days while the female is in estrus and he is unable to mate with her. If dogs are neutered at an early age, they will not sense or respond to pheromones, and would certainly be less stressed and tend to stay home.

3. Increase Concentration

A third behavioral advantage occurs when you are training or working your dog, or using him for field work. If neutered, he will be a much better student with a much longer attention span when there are females nearby that are in heat. This is because he will not be constantly distracted by pheromonal stimuli.

she has to go for her yearly vaccination already. and sorry for the delay, suppose to go begining of the year, but too busy and always forgotten.

Mimi physically look like a cat, but he behave like a dog. because when Mimi is just a kitten, he can only get along with the dogs... and whenever the dog run, he will run together with them, and attempt to bark. (but it sounds like MEOWWWW~~~)

i'm not creating story to make it sound interesting, but infact Mimi really behaves in that way

CheeCool is a male cat. and oh yaaa... after castrated them, they will put on weight.

Pet Finder

when Marley and Berry still staying with me, i keep on worrying that no one wants them, and have to sent to PAWS or SPCA (come to worst).

i seriously wanted to keep both Marley and Berry. although the time that we actually spent together is just a week, but there is such a strong feeling towards the two little one.

one day, a friend of mine, Kenxi, called up and wanted to have Berry! i was so happy, cause i can finally getting at least one of the little one a Home.

the moment when Berry been carried away, i can see that Marley is very sad. Marley is the one that's very active all these while, but once Berry is gone, he was so emo and sad through out the whole night.

i pity Marley, cause he lost his good friend Berry. so i called up my friend, the one that adopted Berry.

according to my friend, he say that Berry was crying through out the whole night too!

my heart seriously have a bad ache, cause it's such a cruel thing to seperate both of them.

this friend of mine, is really a kind-hearted man!

he decided to adopt Marley too cause he say that he doesn't want his baby Berry to be sad!

I WAS SOOOOOOOO FUxKING HAPPY when he told me that he is coming to pick Marley up on that night!

when Kenxi drove to my house, Berry was sitting on the passenger seat OBEDIENTLY! soooo cute!!! honestly, i really think female dogs behave better than male dogs. the only troublesome things to keep a female dog is the MONTLY PROB. but u can have the option to spay them. it's better for them in a way!

once the both little baby reached their new house, my friend told me that Berry actually guided Marley into the house, cause Marley still haven't adapt to the new environment.

they are so cute and loving right? and Berry actually taking care of Marley through out the whole night too. Marley vomitted inside the car while on the way back to his new house. i guess he is nervous and got anxiety attack! hahaha..

i will never forget how Marley look at me, when he is inside the car. i can see his eyes, telling me that "i dont want to go, and i dont want to leave you!"

i hold back my tears. i really dont want to leave them either. i want to tell them that i miss them very much too and i love them too!

i hope they are now well taken care by their new owner. and live happily!

instead of spending so much money to get a dog, might as well you adopt one too?

they are just like the others, no matter what breed they are.

all the dogs are intelligent, and all can be trained! just how the way you bring them up.
